Campton Heights Baptist Church - Fortuna, CA

The Friendly Church in the Friendly City

Our Local "Homegrown" Missionary

Campton Heights Baptist supports many missionaries all over the world.  We are particularly proud of one of our own.  Sarah Short is with the Navigators as full time staff.  She is working in Tempe AZ with college students from Arizona State University.  Campton Heights is Sarah's home church.  We are enormously proud (without being prideful) to be able to send her out to where "the fields are ripe unto harvest."

The summer of 2007 Sarah went to Djibouti Africa to teach English to college students there.  She went with a team of six Navs from different universities in the US.  They had an incredible time.  The heat and the culture differences were challenging, but God was faithful and they made friends and influenced lives.

Sarah went to Russia the summer of 2009 to help teach English to a group of High School aged kids.  They also had spiritual discussions in the evenings.  This trip was a lot of fun and a lot of work.  The students were introduced to Jesus in new, relevant ways.

Sarah's work at Arizona State University continues.  A new school year has started and the work of sharing the Gospel begins in earnest.  Bible studies will be held on campus.  Weekly events include Nav Nite on Fridays.  Sarah is carrying more of the administrative load this year due to the illness of their Campus Director.  Please pray for the Navigator team at ASU.
