Campton Heights Baptist Church - Fortuna, CA

The Friendly Church in the Friendly City

At Campton Heights we feel that it is our responsibility to make you comfortable as you visit our church.  We want you to be able to enjoy the music, feel free to listen to the sermon, and relax, knowing that your kids are well taken care of.  Our people are warm and open, we always have a friendly usher at the door who is more than willing to answer your questions or guide you.

Musically, each week we feature several hymns (done traditionally - keyboard and voice only) a couple of older or well-known choruses and a couple newer, more modern songs of praise (with guitar, drums, etc.).  Our constant prayer as a team is always to facilitate true praise and worship of God, not to "perform a song".

Our goal is to give you a positive worship experience.  Our hope is that you will leave church feeling refreshed and revitalized, knowing that God was present and honored.

This is Kay, one of our REALLY friendly members.

We believe that children are an incredible gift from God!

We know that one of a family's biggest concerns is the safety of their children.  All of our children's ministry workers have been trained and screened.  No newcomers are ever asked to work in a position where they are responsible for children.  Our Child Abuse Prevention Program requires that all children's ministry workers be screened, fingerprinted, and have been attending our church for at least six months.  We always have at least two workers with any children that are in our care.

We have invested in a pager system that allows the nursery workers to page parents in the event that their infant or toddler should need them.  In fact the pager also acts as an identification tag.  In order to get your child out of the nursery, you must return the pager.  No pager, no baby.  This protects our most vulnerable charges from being picked up by someone who has no right or authority to have that child.  We take your child's safety seriously.

We promise to welcome you with a smile no matter what you choose to wear.  We want you to be comfortable.  We are more concerned with meeting your needs than with your clothing.  Casual dress is the order of the day.  In fact, you will frequently find our Deacons wearing Hawaiian shirts.

Casual is okay.

While it obviously takes money to run a church, we believe that God will provide whatever is needed to meet the needs of our church.  We believe that it is the responsibility of God's people to give from whatever God has given them.  We would ask you as a visitor to not put anything in the offering plate.  We believe that financial giving should be done out of a feeling of gratitude to God, and never because of guilt or pressure.
